PHINMA Education expands to Pasay, making student success more accessible through Southeastern College

As demand for accessible college education continues to grow in Metro Manila, PHINMA Education is expanding its reach in Pasay City through the acquisition of Southeastern College, bringing the institution into its fast-growing network of schools dedicated to helping more Filipinos earn a college degree.
For PHINMA Education, expansion is not simply about increasing its footprint, but about creating more opportunities for students who aspire to complete college yet often struggle to access affordable, supportive institutions.

“With every school we bring into our network, our focus is helping more Filipino students complete their education and move forward with better opportunities,” said PHINMA Education Philippines Country Head Happy Tan. “Many of our students are the first in their families to go to college. We want them to know that college is possible—and once they begin their journey, we are committed to walking with them every step of the way.”

Founded in 1946, Southeastern College becomes PHINMA Education’s 12th institution in the Philippines and 14th across its regional network, further strengthening its position as the largest private higher education network in Southeast Asia, in terms of enrollment.

The Pasay campus will become part of the PHINMA Saint Jude College network in the National Capital Region, joining campuses in Manila and Quezon City. This expansion will strengthen PHINMA Education’s ability to serve about 80,000 students in southern Metro Manila and parts of Laguna and Cavite.
As part of the network, Southeastern College will adopt PHINMA Education’s proven approach to student success—combining effective teaching, career-relevant programs, and dedicated academic and personal coaching that helps students stay in school, complete their degrees, and graduate ready for meaningful careers.

“We are in the business of reducing poverty through education.”  Tan said.  “So we build schools where students are empowered to persist, those who’ve dropped out are welcomed back, and every student has the opportunity to complete their education at their own pace and on their own terms. No one is left behind—and to every student who chooses to pursue college, we say: “sasamahan kita.”

PHINMA Education is the largest network of colleges and universities in terms of enrollment in Southeast Asia, serving 178,000 students across the Philippines and Indonesia: PHINMA St. Jude College Manila, PHINMA St. Jude College Quezon City, PHINMA St. Jude College Dasmariñas, Cavite, PHINMA Araullo University (AU), PHINMA Cagayan de Oro College (COC), PHINMA University of Pangasinan (UPang), PHINMA UPang College Urdaneta, PHINMA University of Iloilo, PHINMA Rizal College of Laguna, PHINMA Union College of Laguna, Southwestern University PHINMA, Horizon University Indonesia and Kalbis University. It is a subsidiary of PHINMA Corporation, a Filipino-owned conglomerate committed to making lives better through businesses in education, construction materials, property development, hospitality, and community housing.
