Trans-Asia Oil and Energy Development Corp. (TA Oil) recently acquired CIP II Power Corporation (CIPP) which owns and operates a 21 MW Bunker C-fired power plant located within the Carmelray Industrial Park II – Special Economic Zone in Calamba, Laguna. CIPP also owns and operates an underground distribution system within the park.

CIPP is registered with the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) last June 23, 1998 as an Ecozone Utilities Enterprise and is entitled to develop and operate a power supply and distribution system at the Carmelray Industrial Park II.

CIPP started initial operations in January 2000 with a capacity of 7MW and commenced full operations in December 2000 with a capacity of 21 MW. The power plant engine configuration is 2 x 3.5MW and 2 x 7MW. The engines are supplied by MAK of Germany. The plant supplies power to the park on an island mode.

Turn over ceremonies from the previous owner, Ascendas Utility Pte. Ltd of Singapore to TA Oil took place last December 28, 2006.
